Network License refers to Machine License or USB License that is
deployed on a server with the NKLS (NetKey License Server), allowing the
protected application on the client machines to access the license on the
server remotely via the network. With the max-user property defined in the
Network Key, the NKLS functions to manage a pool of network licenses and
administer available licenses to the clients.
The end-user utilities for Network License can be divided into 2 types.
The license administrator can handle the license using Machine License
utilities or USB License utilities, according to the license type deployed on
the server. With floating network licenses, the clients typically do not need
to handle the license by themselves. If roaming network licenses are allowed,
the user can use the provided Roam utility to check out a license from the
server.
